WILDERNESS CABIN The Wilderness Cabin offers peace and comfort amid rolling hills. This secluded cabin offers magnificent views of the Horseshoe Range. It is the ideal spot for anyone wishing to get away from it all! It is set in a very remote and rugged part of the Horseshoe Range, yet is easily accessible. |

The Cabin is well furnished, with all cooking equipment available in the kitchen. The log fire is very
efficient and the solar powered lighting excellent. Outside, guests can enjoy a campfire or BBQ with great views of the
valley.
As it overlooks a dam, you can sit inside and watch the wildlife come to the water at sunset. There are
always plenty of Kangaroos and often Emus. Bird-watchers love it and there have been reported sightings of rare species
while staying there. A list of birds is also available inside the cabin.
There are many activities to enjoy in the Horseshoe and surrounding areas. There is a popular 2 hour walk on the property
which follows the creek past a waterfall and then follows a track up to Mount Stokes - the highest point of the Horseshoe
Range. Another highlight is the Horseshoe Rim 4WD Adventure Track which loops its way around
the surrounding hills. As privacy is paramount at the Cabin, the track has been designed to preserve this. Your hosts,
Ben and Susan Carn live 40km away on another property and generally leave the visitors alone. However, they are available
on request if need be!
At shearing time in August/September, visitors are invited to go around the range to the big shearing shed and watch.
Many consider this to be a highlight.
There are enough beds for 10, thus making it ideal for families. However, it is also very popular
with couples who really want to be alone! Click here to view a floor
plan of the Cabin.
